Space Tyrant Needed!

Lookin' fer a new challenge, we'll keel-haul ye! A brave new universe awaits ye. You’ll receive a shinny new corvette equipped t' locate planets and a scooper t' make tradin' easy. There’s a catch however. You might not be th' only one seekin' new riches! Conflicts o'er territory may arise, by Davy Jones' locker. We’re acceptin' applications fer new captains at telnet://ioresort.com:9999 and an experimental windows client t' play it, is available fer download here wintyrant.zip.

The universe fer space tyrant is divided into 2 areas, th' main galaxy and th' outer galaxies. Walk the plank! And swab the deck! Main galaxy is 1/5 o' th' map, while th' outer galaxies take up th' remainin' 4/5 o' th' map. There is one spaceport at a random location, every 2000 sectors which has a wormhole leadin' t' th' first sector o' an outer galaxy. You’ll also find in th' main galaxy a tradingpost in sector 1 and another one every 2000 sectors. These can be good places t' stay early in th' game before th' other captains build figs, as these locations are protected by neutral figs.

The main goal o' th' game is t' accumulate microbots (credits used t' purchase upgrades, starbases and figs) by usin' th' antimatter ye’re given every minute t' move yer ship aroun' and trade with planets and ports. The more holds yer ship has, th' more efficiently it can trade, and th' more microbots ye can make.

Upgrades can be obtained at th' tradingposts located throughout th' main galaxy, we'll keel-haul ye, and a bottle of rum! There ye can purchase homin' beacons, holds, tractor devices, combat systems or scanners which are briefly explained below:

Homin' beacons can be picked up by ships when enterin' a sector. Once attached t' th' ship, they are powered by th' eddies generated by th' ship’s movement and will report back th' location o' that ship t' beacon’s owner in real-time.

Tractor devices allow ye t' nudge ports and warp planets. Yaaarrrrr, with a chest full of booty! You’ll need at least 3 t' move planets, 4 t' move a port or planet into a nebula, and 5 if ye want t' move port or planet out o' a nebula.

Combat systems provide defensive and offensive capability t' ships. They augment th' defensive and offensive strenght o' yer ship’s figs not deployed. Shiver me timbers, with a chest full of booty! You’ll need at least 3 o' them before yer figs get an offensive boost on attack.

Scanners provide yer ship with th' ability t' spot enemy ships. With one or two they only work passively but will detect ships in adjacent sectors, with a chest full of booty. With 3 or more ye can also actively scan blocks o' 600, 1200 and 1800 sector blocks.
